Sorry, im not going to help you commit a felony. Whether you say its your cousin or not, I dont know...

There are ways that are not illegal. If you know the static ip address for the computer you can log on it. Just go to search and type in remote. Then find "Remote Desktop Connection" right click and send to desktop. Then just click on the icon and type in the ip address here you will be able to access the other computer.

Hope this helps..
There are programs that do this, but you need to have admin access to do it. Even then, the admins of the net can track what is being done and you would not be in good shape afterwards. I would not suggest you do this. What you could do is send a msg to the IP using the net send command. Go to start, Run and type in cmd and when the cmd window pops up, put net send /? and that will give you the details you need to know to send it.

The only reason you have the USB and ethernet cable is to give you a choice on how to hook up your first computer if you were in a single computer setup. You don't use both.

Do it this way. Get a router (about $50) and two more ethernet cables. Run an ethernet cable from the cable modem to the router's 'Internet or WAN port'. Then run ethernet cables from the router's LAN ports to each PC.

No my friend, what you need is a router. Try Netgear.

You have to connect the modem to the router in order to have wireless internet. For a laptop or a USB port on your PC. That's what I use :)
router
Use the ethernet cable from one computer to another
The best solution is to actually get a router/firewall - preferably a wired one - wireless is still too insecure. ~$40 either linksys or D-link brand are ones I have used have had great luck with. you plug your cable modem into the WAN port, and then your 2 computers in one of the LAN ports. this also gives an extra layer of protection against hackers.
let one use the ethernet cable, let that one use wireless.

use the other conputer to connect with the first computer to connect wirelessly. srsly. idk how. but if it is a mac, i know.

Loading songs on an iPod from 2 computers?

I put my iTunes software on the computer at my parent's house, and now I can't figure out how to add songs on my iPod on my computer at university. It always deletes all of the songs that I used to have on! Is there any way to add songs on from both computers without losing the songs put on from the other computer? Thanks for your help!

In iTunes, there is an option that asks if you want to automatically synch your iPod. You must UNCHECK this option on both computers. If you leave it checked, it means that you are telling your home computer to re-write the hard drive on your iPod, and make an exact copy of its music library onto your iPod. Then when you take it to your parent's computer, THAT computer thinks IT is supposed to make an exact duplicate of ITS library onto your iPod, so it erases the files that came from your home computer and puts the music library from your parent's computer there instead. As you switch back and forth, you keep erasing everything on your iPod each time. By unchecking the synch option on both computers, you will be able to copy whatever files you want from either computer onto your iPod.

no u cant change computers once youve hooked it up 2 one.
copy the originial iTunes library to a CD. take the cd to the other computer and replace the iTunes library folder that is on that computer. it should allow you to use the iPod on your other computer without deleting it.

What is the maximum number of wireless computers working off of a 2Wire 1701HG modem?

Home Network - Currently have 3 wireless laptop computers and 1 desktop ethernet computer (3-XP, 1-Vista) working off of a 2wire 1701HG modem. Tried to add a 5th wireless computer (Vista), the modem would not accept the entry of the 5th computer.

Capacity for a router serving DHCP is 253 computers/devices.

Not that you'd really want 253 machines connected to your home router, so it's usually defaulted to a low number.

How many computers the router will serve is in the router setup: ie the router may be set at starting address 192.168.0.2 and ending address 192.168.0.5, you'll need to login to the router and set the ending address higher to accommodate more computers/devices.
For a 2wire 1701hg modem, you can connect as many as 5 computers wirelessly. You did not provide what error message you're getting on your screen when you tried to connect the 5th computer wirelessly.

Computers or laptops??

computers or laptops wahat do u prefer??

Computers or laptops??internet security software

laptops are much better for hacking

Computers or laptops??moto guzzi

computers because

they don't overheat as much as laptops.

somehow i feel more in control with them

the specifications are much higher for less money than laptops too.

Laptops have their place- just not convinced- have 3 computers - one is a laptop but still rely on my computer for large projects.
Desktop from what I've seen so far in laptops. Laptops seem much more limited on space and the such, although more versatile to take with you. But I still prefer a desktop.
laptops
Laptops
My laptop is great, 12" screen so ultra portable and with loads of cool stuff to keep me occupied and wireless internet, would be lost without it! Computers are ok in offices, but being a student im always on the move and having this with me helps loads!
if you need portability ( student take to school)

( saleman on the road) , very small space such as a student and may be moving a laptop is a good idea

If not a laptop is stupid , stupid , stupid idea

Expensive , fragile, very intricate and very expensive to fix ( newer cheap ones are throwaway with even very few parts available) , slow

If they're both using XP service pack 2, and you're using the built in firewall, you need to "open Windows Firewall in Control Panel, and select the File and Printer Sharing check box on the Exceptions tab" on both PCs to allow them to communicate with each other.

If you're using a third party firewall in place of the built in firewall, you need to define a zone (range of IP addresses) where all traffic is allowed.

have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040. It covers just about any issue you would have and links to other knowledge base articles about firewalls etc.

I have 5 computers on my network and 2 running XP pro. The others run XP Home and they never get dropped, EVER! I'm constantly having to reset the DSL modem to get re-connected. It's not the modem, wiring, or ISP. Trust me I'm positive!

If I had to guess I think there is a corrupt windows file. It acts more like hardware then software though. There was a time when everything worked perfectly. I have no recollection of what I changed when this problem started to happen 6 months ago. Intel board %26 processor..

It's always best to describer your LAN configuration when you are asking for help. List # gateways (w/ DHCP), # switches etc.. One thing that may help is to upgrade your router's firware through webmin. Routers usually fail or slowdown if they are overheated, or are flooded with too many connection from P2P apps like BitTorrent. Firmware sometime fixes issues with connection flooding as it reduces the time the connection stays alive (lease time).
