My computers won't network?

SO I have one desktop and one laptop. I also have a switch which the internet is connected to. Both the desktop and the laptop are connected to the switch in the other ports. How can I now enable file sharing between the two computers? I've run the network setup wizard but to no avail.

Go to the properties of TCP/IP protocol...



Local Area Connection%26gt;Properties%26gt;double click TCT/IP



Assign IP address to each computer like



ComputerA ---- 192.168.0.1



ComputerB ---- 192.168.0.2



ComputerC ----- 192.168.0.3 and on...



Assign all Subnet Mask as 255.255.255.0



leave the gateway... or assign Same value on all PC...



For Gateway and NameServer, please run IPCONFIG/all



Try it may solve your problem... Leave group name as it is..

ensure file and print sharing is switched on, also make sure your firewall(s) are set up to allow NetBIOS traffic.
right click on "my computer".click on properties.select "computer name" tab.



click "change" on the window.give a name to "worgroup".do same thing for other computer.work group names must be same.when both computers r open double click on "network connections".then click "show work group computers".u also must share some files.if not u can not send or take files from other computer.to share a folder:right clik on it. click "sharing and security".then check "share this folder on network"click ok.if u need more help just im me
You are gonna want to Join them to the network.



1. Right click "My Computer"



2. Go to Properties



3. Click "Computer Name" tab



4. Click the "Change Button"



5. Enter the Network/Workgroup you have created.



6. Restart the computer
