I know classes could help me, but I don't really care to fork over $500 for one class where I could go online and read instructions for free, yet I still get the hands on experience I would need. Any websites or books that could help me learn more about building computers.

A+ is the certification for computer hardware. When I was getting my cert I found a lot on line. Email me and ill send you (.pdf and .doc) what I have to study.
