Why don't laptop computers come with built-in handles?

I know some of the heavy duty Panasonic computers have built-in handles but why don't any of the others? It seems like a natural to have handles for laptops and notebook computers to have a carrying handle.

it would look like an attache case, not cool to look at, and bothersome handles

I agree with you on this one. I am convinced that it is not a space issue (as it was in the past when lap tops were new). Since each of the companies make special tote bags for each computer (so they sit nice and snug and keep them safe lol) they would rather not put handles on the computers to get a bit more money out of you for the lap top case. Most companies try to get as much money out of the consumer as possible and at around $60-$120 for the cases they are makeing a killing.
You could make them so that the handles fold down into the body of the computer while you are using it. Very good question.
Beats mean, I never had a problem with it, my in order for the other computer to have it, they would have to be heavy duty too, and that would defeat the purpose of the basic everyday laptops from be portable and light weighted, which is why most college students use them.
