I am in the process of connecting my 2 computers. The computers can ping to each other but I dont know what numbers to enter in the internet protocol (TCP/IP) Properties for the default gateway? Can anyone help.

OK try this

PC No.1 with Modem / Dial up connection

IP = 192.168.0.1 (IP Address)

SM = 255.255.255.0 (Submask)

GW = 192.168.0.1 (Gateway)

DNS = 213.1.119.102 (Bt)

DNS = 94.72.116.38 (Fictional)

PC No.2

IP = 192.168.0.2 (IP Address)

SM = 255.255.255.0 (Submask)

GW = 192.168.0.1 (Gateway)

DNS = 213.1.119.102 (Bt)

DNS = 94.72.116.38 (Fictional)

This will work. Check you firewall and any other software ie Norton Internet Secuirty or Panda Internet Secuirty for blocking traffic and you find this works ver well. However Pc No.1 must always be turned on for this to work, so sellup the modem and switch to Bradband with an ADSL Router faster, smarter and better.

Just download analogx software %26 install it in the pc where the modem is connected.The installation will specify what as to be done.After installation in the other pc in internetoptions------proxy settings specify the ipaddress of the modempc.For further help read the analogx help manuals %26 configure.
In gateway type ip address of the m/c on which internet is connected
