we have 2 computers...mine is with one provider while my girlfriends is with another, but her account was listed under her dads account-he canceled it and she is no longer able to get online.is it possible for us to get a splitter and connect both computers to the same modem and use both at the same time?
Can I run 2 computers off of the same modem at the same time???free antivirus download
you didn't mention what modem you're using.
there are modems which is should i say a router at the same time like the later versions of 2wire modems...(2wire modems have 4 ethernet ports so you can connect 4 computers hardwire, you can even connect even more pcs wireless to the modem)
am not sure if there are modems (just modem) there with more than one LAN port at the back so you can plug another ethernet cable..
so to answer your question, you can connect 2 computers to the modem IF your modem is capable of multiple LAN connection...
if otherwise then you need a router to connect another pc to your internet connection.
best of luck
hope that helps.

Yeah...you need a router. :) I would go on to Ebay or Craig's List and see if you can get one there.
