Remote Desktop between two computers?

I have a Question Regarding Remote Desktop

I live in Kansas And My Friend lives in California, We want to Remote Desktop Our Computers

Is that possible?

if yes, How can i get it working

We both are using EVDO Rev A Mobile Broadband Cards, ( We dont want to use Wi-Fi)

I can Ping his computer, but cant connect using XP's Remote Desktop Software

If it is Possible using Remote Desktop in XP or Real VNC, Please guide me step by step

It's possible both ways, but if you are not sure of what you are doing, I would recommend RealVNC. It depends on exactly what you want to do also though. You can only have a one-way connection either way. If that's what you want, have your friend go to the RealVNC site, and download the full server application. Installation is very simple. Then, you download the viewer application from the same site. Have your friend install and open the server application. Then, get his IP addrerss, and open the viewer application. Enter his IP address and hit Ok or Connect or whatever it is, (I can't remember), and hit ok. You will then be able to see his desktop, as well as move his mouse around and change things.
