Two computers, one external hard drive?

I think the answer to this is 'NO'.. however.

The Western Digital my book pro has 3 interfaces.. http://tinyurl.com/ynkhz7

I'd like to hook it up to two computers at the same time, using firewire 400 to one and 800 to the other PC. Is this possible, or would it not work/damage the HD?

Ideally I'd get a NAS drive but I bought one recently and it just doesn't cooperate with my router at all. Real shame because NAS drives are so excellent and would solve this problem. Hard times!

Thanks in advance.

Not possible exactly the way you want to do it. However, you could just attach it to one, then access it through your network from the other one.

Depends what os you are using. Most these days have disk management. This means that only one computer can manage the disk at any given time.

like you say.... NAS drives are the way to go. Very cheap too.
I know that you can hook up 2-towers to one set of accessories. Mouse, keyboard, etc., But I don't think it's possible to hook up 2-towers to one external hard drive. I've never heard of any equipment that you can use to even perform such an operation.
what router have you got. because i've got a bt home hub which has a usb slot so you can plug a printer or a hard drive into it.
