I have three computers: eMachines T2862, eMachines T3616, both of which are desktops, and a Compaq Presario F557US (notebook). We were thinking of switching to Verizon FiOs. The Verizon Rep said they will supply a router.
My question is if our current computers will be able to support the router, or will we have to get something to upgrade them to be able to support the router/FiOS internet service. If I need to upgrade them, what should I be getting?
Thank you!!

I also have the 15mb FiOS package from Verizon. If those computers have network cards I can not see any problem what so ever. The router they give you is an Actiontek, it's different from the old Linksys one but you must be some what experienced in basic networking on how a network goes. I do not see upgrading needed. I mean you can upgrade the routers firmware which can solve some compatibility issues people may experience sometimes but very few do. Upgrading the firmware is not always recommended. Good day sir!

yes, you might have t get some nics for them, but other than that they will do fine!
I do not believe you need any special equipment on your end. When the signal comes off the router - the only way it can get to your computer is wireless or by Ethernet cable. Top of the line FIOS runs at 30mbs down - your card supports 100 and the wireless is capable of 54mbs.
