Want to start fixing computers as a freelancer, how does that work tax and insurancewise? Thanks?

I am skilled with computers and want to advertise myself in a local newspaper as a computer repairman and want to know how this works tax insurance wise, also declaring my income etc

Basically what do I have to do to keep myself on the right side of the law if I work as a self employed PC repairman?

Im 18 years old if this helps

Thankyou :)

You'll be technically referred to as a 'sole trader' - that is, unlike a limited company (which is a legally seperate entity to yourself), you would be operating under a business name for purposes of conducting your trade.

The tax stuff is pretty easy to set up - just get an accountant. It's worth paying for a good one because they'll save you more money than they cost.

sorry cant help, not sure on the law in Ireland, all the best in finding out
Theres loads of stuff to consider, just done a serach for business insurance as you'll need that found on google that you may need public liablity insurance too, not sure on that one. Found that http://www.moneysupermarket.com/business... have loads of companies on there for self employed people and loads of info. Have found them good in the past on other parts of their site :)
First off congratulations on being an entrepreneur!
