I have a few questions regarding laptop computers on airlines. First, do they have a power source available (can you plug it in or must you rely solely on your battery)? Second, is there some sort of Internet access available in flight? I haven't ridden a plane since before the computer age!

Some airlines have a few power sources on some of their larger aircraft (that are generally used for longer flights) but generally there isn't on most airplanes. As far as internet access, there isn't on the plane and actually they will tell you to disable the wireless feature on your laptop before you take off. Most airport terminals do have wireless access though, and a few power outlets in the terminal, but often you have to pay a fee (it's not free wireless in a lot of airports it's like $5-8 usually for up to 24 hours of access, but chances are you'll only have time to be using it for a few minutes so it's not worth paying for).

Im afaird yor going to have to rely on your laptop batteries. The only time their will be a power source is in buisness or fist. And no there isn't any internet acess
you cannot get on the internet and some big planes(747,767,777) have AC power ports
The only airline I have been on that has power ports in coach domestically is AA - and then only at some rows. However, their service sucks so bad, that I would prefer to take an extra battery and use a different airline.
Some planes have a "power port;" however, it's usually in business or first class only.
And no, there is no internet access on a plane.
