I am looking to sync 2 computers that are on 2 differant networks (work and home) so that I dont have to lug around my laptop.... Is there a way to do this for FREE? If not, what other programs are out there (Even if they arn't FREE)

you could do virtual private networking (VPN) although you would have to google it on how to set it up, a guy that works remotely for my company uses it to login our network.
