I work at a retail store and none of us are very computer savy. We are attempting to set up two computers for burning audio and software for customers. To do this the computers must communicate. I tried the 'ping' test on the one that will speak to the other, and when I did I got: "Could not find host. Check name and try again." I believe I have the name right. Is there something I'm missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
We're trying to network two computers, but the 'ping' test failed. Can anyone help?download
You need to buy a Pong, because a Ping will only work
when it has a complimentary Pong.

You must make sure that 2 PCs are in the same subnet to communicate %26 if direct connection, you must use cross over LAN cable. After that, if you enable Firewall, make sure you gove permission in the firewall
Either u can connect with a cross cable or with Hub/Switch
Then check the connectivity by ping ip address of the computer.
Check whether u have given the ip address correctly..
Like , whether it is on the same class ip....
Even in the same class check out the network part and the host part ...
