Is it worth selling computers in the paper (UK Only)?

I'm thinking about building and selling computers through a local paper in the small ads.

I would be buying the parts online, I know computers are so cheap in places like pc world, dell.

Would it be worth doing it?

I value your views

You are not going to make a good living at it now as the last letter pointed out. However it can still be a good sideline and it's all experience. It's good advice to specialise, and you could aim to get some regular customers close to home. You could also consider doing repairs, if you can build them you can fix them. You could buy a copy of Micro Mart computer magazine, it's only 拢1.99 weekly, they have free classified adverts in the back, that would give you a guide to pricing and if you advertise with them it's better than a local paper as everyone who buys it is obviously interested in computing. It's also a good magazine if you want to know a little more about how things work. Hope this helps

PPERFECT, is a very good idea, it take a bave and quiet mind to initiate a thinking , sooner others will follow ,the earlier the better for you
better to sell thru eBay
You will find it difficult to buy the parts to make the machines to sell at PC World %26 Dell prices, even buying from the likes of eBuyer. And that's *before* you add the price of the OS and apps that come bundled with it.

Don't aim at the Joe Public market. Be specific. Sell "ultimate gamer" machines, or something like that. You won't sell volume, but you might turn a profit.

Been there, done that, and there isn't any money in it anymore, thanks to the box-shifters that you mentioned.

Best of luck anyway!
