Yer question seems obviously ambiguous.

Most know that a 'g' - gigabyte is 100 or a thousand times bigger than a 'mbps' - megabytepersecond.

To download a 54 megabyte file will be faster than downloading a 54 gigabyte file

Naturally, not knowing any system to incorporate a 800+ gigabyte per second download, it jest seems kinda impossible for me to be able to understand your circumstance.

same thing however 802.11g is "up to" 54 so, from a realistic point of view--it will probably run slower thus be "slower" than 54mbps.
802.11 G max data rate is 54mb
